Young Adult Community

SYAC is a community like no other; a safe and supportive community with opportunities for work, non-traditional education, and leisure activities. Many of our residents, who have long been misunderstood, thrive in this innovative environment under the supervision of our patient and caring staff. SYAC was built on a foundation of the latest research and developmental practices for individuals with impaired adaptive behavior resulting from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Pervasive Developmental Disorders such as Asperger’s Syndrome and high-functioning Autism, and individuals with neurobehavioral characteristics.

Our community includes group and independent housing, a community center, fishing pond and lake, riding trails, pool, gym, and equestrian center. Our support services include 24/7 supervision, onsite job training and opportunities, volunteer opportunities, individual therapy with a licensed counselor, equine therapy, and individual and group activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing.
